Drawing and painting are crafts that can be learned by almost
everyone who is prepared to study and practice to acquire a solid foundation on
which to build your competency and ultimately produce a successful result.
Learning the techniques is like learning to drive a car. The skill isn’t
learning about the car but about driving the car. Once you have the skills you
can expand your horizons. Developing your ability is important for it can be the
basis for all your future artwork. As you develop your skills, you will
appreciate that self-motivation can be more important than talent. One of the
most important aspects you can learn from these courses are that you can grow
and develop as an artist only by practising consistently. Acquiring this skill
relies entirely on your level of commitment.
These courses are composed of nine lessons of consecutive projects with step by
step examples and an assignment at the end of each lesson. these are then sent
to me for assessment and returned with an assessment and the next lesson.
Your personal style will develop only if you consistently practice. Once you
have acquired a solid foundation you will continue to grow and improve, but
remember it is important to practice the basics before embarking into more
adventurous studies and no amount of self-teaching can substitute for the
guidance of a skilled teacher.
If you have any questions or if you would like to discuss any aspects of the
course, you can write to me, or phone at the address and telephone number above.
I hope to welcome you as a student and look forward to working with you.
